Color scheme
Choosing a color scheme is an important part of updating any room, but don’t just think it means making sure everything’s the same color. Remember your bedroom should be a tranquil room, so unless you’re really keen on bright red or shocking pink you should maybe stick to a more neutral pallet. That isn’t to say that you can’t have a feature wall or few pieces in vivid colors, as in fact a splash of red or pink can add a passionate ambience and brighten up north-facing bedrooms.

If a new bed is out of your budget, make sure that you have a comfortable and stylish mattress, and use accessories to give your bed a new look. Flooring
The flooring you choose for your bedroom is also important in getting the overall look you want, but your choice may be dependent on what you already have to work with. Wooden floors may look great, and if you already have decent timber down that simply needs a sand and polish then there isn’t too much work to do. Do bear in mind how hot or cold your bedroom is though, as carpeted floors will retain the heat much more successfully. Whatever flooring you choose, a rug that matches your style and color scheme will add a perfect finishing touch to your room.
